Deciding on Roles
[Under development]
Beware excessive use of roles: people rarely fit roles—they make their own roles.
Do not hesitate to define custom roles for different situations or for each team. However, some standard decision-making roles are usually useful.
Define decision-making roles in terms of the categories of decisions they are responsible for. Do not conflate them with specific styles of leadership.
Many people who have a leadership role need to be teamed with other supporting leaders to be effective. This depends on the individual.
